Billabong Retreat Review

My experience at Billabong Retreat just before Christmas was absolutely amazing! It was a perfect time to disconnect from the busiest time of year and just relax over the weekend. This wonderful retreat is located very close from Sydney, NSW just 45 minutes by train.

I planned to stay for a weekend, so I left Sydney on Friday afternoon and I took the train from Central to Vineyard Station. The shuttle was there on time waiting to picked up and after 10 minutes I arrived at Billabong Retreat.

When I arrived, I felt my stress melting away and also all the relaxation from the beautiful nature surronded the beautiful Billabong Retreat. What a stunning place!

The retreat offers a variety of programs to reconnect mind, body, breath as well as nourish your body with organic and healthy meals, managing stress with different activities such as yoga, meditation, massage, facial, naturopathy and reik.

I choose to experience the Yoga Essentials program (Friday to Sunday) and I absolutely loved! I had a wonderful time restarting my body and mind with this program.

The Yoga Essentials include twice daily yoga flow classes plus special yoga workshops each day and evening meditation every other day.

The place where the practices are held is absolutely beautiful, a huge room with an amazing view to the bush. It was one of the most amazing places that I’ve done a yoga class in my life!

During this time I learned a lot! I could reset from my busy routine and paying more attention to my body and mind. I learned how to breath properly without the anxiety and also nourishing my body with real food.

About the Yoga Essentials Program

The Billabong Retreat provides everything you need to relax deeply and take care of your mind and body. In my experience, I could enjoy the following activities everyday:

• 07:00 am – Yoga (for everybody – beginners and all levels)

• 08:00 am – Breakfast

• 09:15 am – Workshop

• 12:00 pm – Lunch

• 03:30 pm – Yoga

• 03:00 am – Afternoon tea

• 06:00 pm – Dinner

• 07:00 pm – Meditation and Movie night

I started my days with yoga practices at 7am, which can be done by any level of yoga knowledge. Then all the guests went for an amazing healthy and full of nutrients breakfast. At 9:15 I participated of a yoga workshop activity which was really helpful and I could learn some new techniques. Then until the lunch time, I had a free time to relax and I choose swimming at the beautiful billabong and walking around the retreat.

The lunch was delicious! The food was prepared by their amazing team of chefs and they talked to everybody before serving the meal explaining the importance of eating with quality, be always present and grateful during every meal! All meals were made with organic food and they are all vegetarian. Simply delightful! I felt better, my digestion was perfect during that time and I could try different vegetarian meals really delicious!

In the afternoon, I did another yoga class but this time more relaxed with stretching and breathes exercises. 

After the Yoga class, I could enjoy the the pool and also a massage at the wellness centre. By the way – the best massage of my life! 1 hour of pure relaxation!

The afternoon tea and dinner was on point! I had enough to balance my body and mind during all day! In the night time, I did the meditation class and also watched a movie. The nights were pretty relaxed. I went to bed earlier, I had a long and restful sleep to wake up full of energy in the next day.

Accommodation – Their Tree House Cabin

I love the experience of tree house cabins! If you follow me a long time you know how I love dreamy stays and of course to share everything about the experience. There are different types of cabins at Billabong Retreat. I booked the ‘Treehouse Ensuite Double’ a very cute cabin into the bush with a view to the billabong. The room was great, with a comfy bed, own entrance, bathroom and private balcony. It was peaceful and very relaxed! I loved my experience and I will definitely come back!

There is no wi-fi at Billabong Retreat, but don’t worry! As they said, you will find a better connexion to yourself!
